Stamp Savers (was Stamp Etiquette/Cleaning)

From: SpringChick (springchick@letterbox-mi.com) | Date: 2003-06-07 11:01:33 UTC
I was wondering the same thing about socks. I would think that even
with thorough washing, they would likely retain scent.

The little stamp savers that Chris is talking about are a great
idea. I have been making them out of posterboard, old gift boxes and
old file folders. I recently tried using the thin craft foam and
that works great also. Once you've done a couple and get the hang of
it, it will take only 5-10 minutes to make one. With the posterboard
ones, I fold a tiny square of paper toweling in the bottom to blot
the ink. They sure help to keep the inside of the box clean!

If you are interested in the directions, go to the linked page below
and click on "stamp savers" (you will need to have MS-Word and have
cookies enabled in your browser to get to this page. If you are not
able to see the page and don't have a clue what I am talking about as
far as cookies go, e-mail me and I can just e-mail you the
directions).

If anyone would like to see what these things look like, let me know
and I can try to take a few photos. Thank Franzsolo and Scoutdogs
for such a cool idea!

Sorry, I forgot the .com when I was typing out the URL. It should be

http://www.letterbox-mi.com/events/030531_materials.asp

I will be putting them into .pdf format later today or tomorrow, so
even if you don't have MS-Word, you can get to them.

Not sure if this will help with small sized letterboxes. Gerber Baby
food now comes in plastic containers with a snap on lid. If you know
someone who has a baby - you can most likely get as many as you want
if they will do the trick.
